Pannenkoek

Dutch-style pancakes are larger and thinner than traditional pancakes, but not as thin as crepes. They're soft and fluffy on the inside, with a delicious crispy edge.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • pinch salt

  • 2 cups milk

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp olive oil

Method

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt

  2. Add the milk and whisk to combine

  3. Add the egg and oil, and continue whisking until well combined

  4. Cook pancakes with some butter, one at a time, in a medium/large frying pan on medium heat.

Pancakes should have crispy edges but still soft on the inside. Try adding some thinly sliced apple or even bacon to the pan before pouring in the mixture.
